Why
the seminars are so good
George brings to his teaching a unique mix of woodworking skills and experience in the industry. Formally trained as an Industrial Education teacher in power tool woodworking, he also spent time in Africa with Peace Corps teaching hand tool joinery. In spending ten years as Tools and New Products Editor for American Woodworker Magazine George established first-name-basis-contacts with many tool manufacturers. His classes at The Wild Earth School provide an opportunity for George to observe students and their hands-on techniques, helping him tweak his presentations to provide the best educational experience.
Retail stores and woodworking shows will appreciate George’s sensitivity to tool manufacturers and trends in the woodworking industry.
Guilds will love George’s down-to-earth, well thought out teaching methods.
What
people say about George:
I just wanted
to take a moment to thank you for your contribution to our Woodworking Show for
the last 3 years. I think this past February was the best one yet.
I have had countless customers come up to me and tell me how much they enjoyed
your seminars. I have people tell me things like “I’ve been woodworking
for 15 years and every time I attend George’s seminars I am surprised to learn
something new”
George, you
really do help to make our show a tremendous success, and your down-to-earth personality
makes you a real hit with the local Sioux Falls Customers. They are all
looking forward to seeing you again next year.
Thanks
again for all you’ve done.

George was
a fantastic teacher! He has a method of teaching that lead me through the
process, made me think and I never felt lost. He has a great environment; a
wealth of information, really neat tools, and a great family and shares it all.
I can't wait to use what I learned and am sure I will be back for more!

TruPower’s Woodworking courses have become a favorite among students. George Vondriska, our Woodworking instructor, teaches students in a very down to earth manner. We are very honored to have George as part of the TruPower team!

George’s ability to interact, engage and entertain large crowds while educating and generating excitement is unparalleled in our industry and has greatly helped our company gain market exposure. An example of the outstanding work performed by George was during the August 2008 International Woodworking Fair. George engineered a unique woodworking system to create extraordinary bowls and trays in a manner that a novice could understand and an expert could appreciate. Crowds were enthralled with his presentation and the beautiful end result. His presentation was rock solid and his thorough preparation resulted in perfect demonstrations throughout the four-day show.

As the years passed George proved to be a consummate seminar presenter and I began to utilize him in other ways: leading hands-on workshops and as a featured floor demonstrator. He was equally effective at everything he did. The workshops received praise from people he taught and his floor demonstrations attracted throngs of excited onlookers. Teaching woodworking in a classroom is much different than teaching on a busy show floor, but George is one of a select group who has the personality and knack to teach under any conditions. At a recent show George demonstrated re-sawing on the bandsaw - he was completely encircled by a crowd that I estimated as 100 people. Somehow, George managed to make the simple act of cutting wood into a magical moment.
