Commonly asked questions:

Do I need to set aside lots of time to fit your classes into my schedule?
No.  Most of our classes are formatted to fit into evenings and weekends.  We specialize in taking big chunks of information and breaking them down into manageable bites.

How do I make sure I always have current information about Wild Earth?
Send us your e-mail address.  Whenever we add a class or update the schedule we send out an e-mail newsletter to let everyone know.

How do I register for classes?
Call or e-mail us.  We'll pencil you in.  We require a 50% deposit to hold your spot in class, and can take that by credit card (Mastercard or Visa) or check.

Who teaches the classes?
Many of the classes are taught by George and Emily Vondriska.  Their biographies can be found by following the Instructors link.  Outside instructors are all experts in their fields, and are carefully screened.

Are there additional material fees?
No.  Unless otherwise noted, all materials are included in the price of the class.

What's the school like?
It's an open and airy building.  We built it ourselves in 1998 by reworking a barn on our farm.  High ceilings and cherry paneling on the walls make for a warm and comfortable learning environment.  Look out the large windows and you can watch our horses, sheep, guinea hens, and peacock.

Where can I go for lunch?
Lunch is included with all day-long classes.  The menu varies, but with luck Emily will provide fresh baked muffins on Sunday morning.

Where can I stay if I'm from out of town?
Hudson is quite the tourist destination, so there are lots of hotels in town.  We're only 30 miles from Minneapolis/St Paul, and you can find many hotels there, too.  Many web sites offer information on hotels.  Here are a couple:

Should I bring my family?
Not a bad idea.  Hudson has lots to see.  Stillwater, Minnesota is right across the river, and is a very historic town known for its antique stores and shopping.  If shopping is your thing, you'll want to get to the Mall of America, about 45 minutes from Hudson.  You'll find everything from state parks to cheese factories to cave tours within 30-60 minutes drive of Hudson.  For more information, follow the links

What if I have to fly in?
You'll want to fly into the Minneapolis/St Paul airport.  It's about a 45 minute ride from Hudson, and we can help you arrange a shuttle if you don't want to rent a car.  Once you're in town, we can pick you up and drop you off each day.
